In the new era, empathy is the human response to shared vulnerability and the key to global awareness. To empathize is to cross over and experience, in the most profound way, the very being of another, especially the other’s struggle to endure and prevail in his or her own life journey. Even though empathy has deep biological roots, like language, it, too, has to be practical and continually renewed to be of use. Empathy is the ultimate expression of communication between beings.
