아니마와 아니무스

Anima and Animus 
Jung identified the anima as being the unconscious feminine component of men and the animus as the unconscious 
masculine component in women. However, this is rarely taken as a literal definition: many modern day Jungian 
practitioners believe that every person has both an anima and an animus. Jung stated that the anima and animus act
 as guides to the unconscious unified Self, and that forming an awareness and a connection with the anima or animus
 is one of the most difficult and rewarding steps in psychological growth. Jung reported that he identified his anima 
as she spoke to him, as an inner voice, unexpectedly one day. 
Oftentimes, when people ignore the anima or animus complexes, the anima or animus vies for attention by projecting
 itself onto others. This explains, according to Jung, why we are sometimes immediately attracted to certain strangers: 
we see our anima or animus in them. Love at first sight is an example of anima and animus projection. Moreover, people
 who strongly identify with their gender role (e.g. a man who acts aggressively and never cries) have not actively recognized 
or engaged their anima or animus.)
칼 융(스위스 심리학자)은 아니마를 남성의 무의식적 여성적 요소로, 아니무스를 여성의 무의식적 남성적 요소로 보았다. 그러나,
 
 이 개념은 글자 그대로 받아들여지지 않고: 많은 현대의 융학파정신분석가들은 누구나 아니마와 아니무스를 지니고 있다고 믿고 
 
있다. ​융은 아니마와 아니무스는 무의식적인 통일된 자아에 이르는 안내자이며, 자신의 아니마와 아니무스를 인식하거나 연결되는
 
 것은 심리적 성장에서 가장 어렵고 보상을 받게 되는 단계라고 하였다. 융은 어느날 갑자기 자신의 아니마가 자신에게 말할 때 
 
발견하게 되었다고 기록하고 있다.
 
종종, 사람들이 아니마나 아니무스 컴플렉스를 무시하면, 그 아니마나 아니무스는 스스로를 다른 사람에게 투사함으로써 관심을
 
 끌려고 한다. 융은 우리가 낯선 사람을 보자마자 끌리게되는 것은 이때문이라는 것이다. 우리는 그 낯선 사람 속에서 우리 자신의 
 
아니마나 아니무스를 발견하게 되는 것이다. 첫눈에 사랑에 빠지는 것은 아니마나 아니무스 투사의 한 예다. 자신의 성역할에 강하게 
 
동일시하는 사람(공격적으로 활동하고 절대 울지 않는 남성처럼)은 자신의 아니마와 아니무스를 제대로 알아차리거나 접촉하지 못하고 
 
있는 것이다.
